STUDENTS INTERNATIONAL PROFILE

The Educational Consulting Centre Students International was founded as a private enterprise in 1993 to give the opportunity to young and ambitious people from the former Soviet Union to undertake studies overseas. SI started with short-term language courses abroad but very shortly began to direct students for long-term language training, secondary, vocational and degree studies. We offer single and combined courses comprising preparatory language training, vocational and foundation programmes, undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and other educational pathways. Annually we recruit about 1,200 - 1,400 students for overseas institutes. About 60% of our clients travel to undertake language courses that are longer than 6 months and/or secondary or tertiary training.

Oleg Stepanenko, General director, SI, Russia SI offers educational opportunities available in Australia, Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Malta and other European countries, Japan and China. We have long-term partner relations with more than 100 best overseas language schools, vocational colleges, institutes of studies and universities in many countries of the world. Anyway we are still eager to expand our partnership and are open for co-operation with new educational institutions. We have good reputation and excellent operational liaison with the embassies and diplomatic missions issuing visas to our clients.

The SI policy is to apply aggressive advertisement campaigns of partner institutions and programmes they offer, to participate in the principal specialised exhibitions and workshops, to release articles on foreign educational opportunities and to publish brochures on the national educational systems and programmes offered by the partner schools (totally about 15 editions have been released), to organise presentations and exhibitions of these educational institutions. Annually since 2000 together with our overseas partners we have been conducting two Through-Russia Study Abroad Roadshows in such cities as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamachatskiy, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

The exhibitions and presentations conducted in the framework of the Roadshows turned out to be of the great success and attracted a lot of public attention (500-1000 attendees in each city) and have resulted in significant growth of overseas recruitments.
